health_care (1)If you bought health care coverage through the Health Insurance Marketplace and benefit from advance payments of the premium tax credit, it is to your advantage to report specific changes in your circumstances. Not doing so could mean you may end up with less of a tax refund or even owing money.

Examples of changes you should report to the Marketplace includes:

  • Income changes (increase or decrease)
  • Marriage or divorce
  • Birth or child adoption
  • Signing up/attaining health care coverage via a new job or with your current employer
  • Losing coverage from your employer’s plan
  • Moving locations/changing residences
